Ivette Soler, author of The Edible Front Yard, was at Plastica signing copies and talking growing food with fans of her book, Saturday. If you haven’t been to Plastica (8405 West 3rd Street) you are missing out. It is full of plastic (and plastic looking) toys, housewares, office products, and other colorful goodies you will want to bring home, both for kids and grown ups. Birthday party, baby shower, boss’ birthday, blind date? Plastica has a perfectly adorable something for all your special someones. And it’s just so cute inside.
I Heart Pies was there too with three pies to taste. And, I tried all three of them. The first one I tried was there Strawberry Blackberry pie. I presumed this would be my favorite. And it was, until I tried the Peanut Butter S’Mores and Peeps Pie. Yes, a pie made of those adorable little marshmallow chickens we tend to binge snack on through the Easter and post Easter season. They were all my favorite. It was a tie.
It case you missed it, here are some photos from the event.
